Eclipse Magnetics Volunteers at Baby Basics
At Eclipse Magnetics we encourage our employees to support their local communities and enable them to take time out of the working day to volunteer for causes that are significant to them. Across two days thirteen employees volunteered at Baby Basics in Sheffield. They were joined by the charity’s regular volunteers and carried out a range of activities from building cots and beds to making newborn baby baskets.

Baby Basics started as a single charity in Sheffield and has since expanded to over 40 sites across the UK. The charity helps children under five and their families with essentials, to make sure they have all the basic equipment needed to ensure a safe and comfortable upbringing. Through donations they are able to provide clothing, toys and toiletries. They also receive funding from South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard’s Beds for Babies: Safe Space to Sleep Programme. Beds for Babies provides a moses basket, cot or toddler bed to any 0–5-year-old who needs it following a referral by an appropriate organisation.
The two teams of volunteers spent their day sorting through donations, unpacking cots to make sure all the parts were included, cleaning baby baths and potties, creating care packages and ironing clothing.

In addition to volunteering our time with Baby Basics, we encouraged our employees to contribute by donating a variety of toiletries for both adults and babies. We were delighted with the amount of generous donations.
Sarah Stones, Eclipse Charity Champion said: “We were proud to support such an important cause, and it was inspiring to see firsthand the incredible impact the charity has on local families in need. Both teams fully embraced the day, and we look forward to returning in the near future.”
Thank you to those who volunteered and to Baby Basics for allowing us this opportunity to give back to the community.
