Shape the details that make great engineering possible…
At Eclipse Magnetics, part of the Spear & Jackson Group, we’re looking for a Draughtsperson to join our Operations team in Sheffield. This is a hands-on, office-based position where your drawings don’t just sit on a screen, they become real products used in real environments. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and wider teams to translate requirements into clear, accurate, and manufacturable designs.
The work itself is straightforward in principle but meaningful in execution. You’ll create customer approval drawings, refine them into detailed manufacturing drawings, and build the associated bills of materials and routings. You’ll liaise directly with customers to secure approvals, coordinate with internal departments, and engage external suppliers where needed. Along the way, you’ll keep an eye on cost targets and ensure each project stays aligned with expectations. It’s a role that rewards clarity, consistency, and attention to detail.
We’re looking for someone who already understands the rhythm of a manufacturing environment. You’ll be comfortable working with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and you’ll have a solid grasp of engineering drawings, standards, and terminology. Organisation matters here and you’ll often be managing multiple jobs at once so the ability to prioritise without losing accuracy is essential. Communication is just as important; you’ll need to adapt how you share information depending on who you’re working with, whether that’s a customer, colleague, or supplier.
Just as importantly, this role suits someone who approaches work in a steady, thoughtful way. You’re professional, approachable, and able to stay composed when things get busy. You take ownership of your work, solve problems proactively, and understand the value of getting the details right the first time.
This is a fully site-based role at our Atlas facility in Sheffield, with no remote or hybrid option, designed to support close collaboration with the wider team and the needs of the business. If you’re someone who takes pride in precision and enjoys seeing your work move from concept to completion, you’ll find this a rewarding place to be.
You probably want to know more about the business - our products, our plans, and our history. Well, part of the Spear & Jackson Group of companies, we’ve been around over 100 years and are plenty experienced in the design and manufacture of high-performance magnetic systems, we supply critical magnetic equipment to some of the leading names in the most demanding industries. We are firmly established as a leading manufacturer and supplier of magnets and magnetic equipment.
