UWR Fight Back at Brands Hatch to Hold onto Second Spot in the F3 Cup Leader Table

Sponsored by Eclipse Magnetics, the University of Wolverhampton Racing team had a tricky weekend at the fourth meeting of the F3 Cup 2021 competition at Brands Hatch.

A difficult day in testing put Shane Kelly on the back foot going into Saturday’s qualifying. Having dug deep throughout the night, the team transformed the car, injecting some much-needed pace. However, the wet conditions left Shane struggling to fight through from the back of the grid, finishing fourth in race one.

Going into a Sunday, a little fine-tuning got UWR back into the mix, with two perfect starts securing him P2 in both races and a podium finish.

Despite the disappointing start, the team secured an impressive 79 points from the meet, maintaining a healthy points gap at the top of the Championship table.

The next race will take place at Donnington National Circuit on the 18th and 19th of September.
