A Review Of 2023

Despite the challenges faced across the globe, 2023 was a successful year for Eclipse Magnetics. As we begin 2024, we think it’s important to reflect on 2023 by looking at some of our successes over the past 12 months, including new product launches, exhibition successes and highlights from our people.

January 2023

We started the year bright, with a rainbow appearing over the Atlas office. Fortunately, this represented a symbol of the year ahead.

February 2023

In February 2023, new racking was installed in our assembly area to enable increased in-house manufacturing capabilities. This will help us to further reduce our emissions on our journey to Net Zero.

March 2023

March 2023 began with the CFIA Exhibition in Rennes, France. European Area Sales Manager, Laurent Pirez, showcased our range of magnetic separation products to visitors from across Europe and beyond. Some of the products on display included the Auto-Shuttle, Easy Clean Housed Grid Magnet and the Pneumag separator.

An important milestone in our journey to Net Zero in March was the installation of six electric vehicle charging points. This has enabled 50% of our company fleet to move to fully electric vehicles.

On Sunday 26th March, Eric Latham and Steve McAllorum, together with other employees from across the Spear & Jackson group ran the Sheffield Half Marathon, raising over £2,500 for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease.

Also in March, a group of Eclipse Magnetics employees, including Rachael, Sarah F and Sarah S, took time out of the office to volunteer at the S6 food bank, where they helped to organise donations and then spent time talking to some of the visitors to the food bank.

April 2023

April 2023 saw the formation of our Internal Sales Team, as we welcomed Reece Holmes to the team as Internal Sales Manager. This team is the internal hub of customer communications, facilitating liaison with other internal departments as required and enhancing the experience of our customers.

April also saw the launch of the new Eclipse Magnetics corporate brochure, which conveys our brand message and sets out our values and mission.

June 2023

In June 2023, Filtration Sales Manager Dan Beaulieu visited Limerick in Ireland for the GTMA Manufacturing Solutions exhibition to showcase our range of filtration products. This included both the Micromag and Filtramag+ range of magnetic filtration systems.

August 2023

In August 2023, employees from across the Spear and Jackson group took part in a sponsored walk and raffle. A total of around 160 miles was walked on the day, as well as raising a total of almost £1,500 for The Children’s Hospital Charity. Those who took part then celebrated their achievement with a well-deserved ice cream.

October 2023

October 2023 saw the launch of the brand new Ultralift E magnetic lifter. This cost-effective lifter quickly transformed the market, offering high performance lifting at a competitive price. With a 3:1 working load limit safety factor and an integral locking device, customers can rest assured that they are investing in a safe and efficient magnetic lifting device.

Another important Net Zero milestone was achieved in October, with the company reporting a 32% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions during the 2022/23 financial year. Not only that, but from the 1st October, we reached the key milestone of 100% zero carbon electricity. This puts us on track to achieve Net Zero for scope 2 next year.

The new Eclipse Magnetics Video Hub also launched in October, providing a new home for our video assets. This also provides us with the space to grow our video offering further in 2024, offering our customers educational content on everything magnetic.

November 2023

November began with Kerri Ellis-Greaves and Martyn Cotterill attending the Rope and Sling Specialists open day in Rotherham. Here, they have the opportunity to showcase our Ultralift range of magnetic lifters to customers from across South Yorkshire and beyond.

Towards the end of November, we celebrated Black Friday by launching a week of offers across our Filtration and Magnetic Lifter products. The week was a success, with many customers taking advantage of our offers.

December 2023

December began with the annual Spear and Jackson group Christmas party, which saw employees from across the group come together at Cutlers Hall in Sheffield to celebrate the successes of the year.

Later in December, we celebrated our one-year anniversary as a Real Living Wage accredited employer. This is a huge milestone for the company, and one that we are extremely proud to have achieved. Our people are central to our business and we are committed to ensuring that they are fairly rewarded for their efforts.

In Summary

2023 was a fantastic year for Eclipse Magnetics and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank every person that supported us, whether as a customer, a supplier or an employee.
